Job Summary
Weld metal components, fabricate, and repair heavy mechanical products per specifications while adhering to safety rules and quality standards. Read blueprints, inspect metal prior to welding, and perform grinding operations to ensure clean welds. Execute MIG, TIG, stick, and arc gouging techniques including vertical, flat, and overhead positions. Maintain welding machines, select proper rods, and test hot oil piping for leaks. Support team efficiency by providing efficient equipment layout and working with fitters on assembly. Requires 2+ years of heavy equipment production line welding experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience with heavy equipment production line welding
- Ability to properly and safely MiG weld, stick weld, and arc gouging
- Ability to read and understand weld symbols
- Successful completion of Permit Required Confined Space Entry training
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school or community college course work
- Computer experience, particularly the ability to use a mouse and locate and open/close programs/files
