Job Summary
Welder III performing complex welding tasks in ship repair and maritime fabrication, including structural and pipe welding, interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine welding processes, installing and repairing pipes, valves, and fixtures, and ensuring weld quality to NAVSEA, ABS and AWS standards. Proficiency with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and related welding technologies, fabricating fixtures and jigs, and documenting quality evidence. Requires ability to travel to shipyards and marine facilities, and possession of or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a high school, trade or vocational school degree.
- Target of 10 years plus of direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials.
- Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
- Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.
- Possess basic and some advanced specialized welder's tools.
- Previous welding certifications or ability to obtain welding qualifications may be used in lieu of experience.
