Job Summary
The TIG Welder III is responsible for performing complex TIG (GTAW) welding operations on thin-gauge materials, primarily aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys. This role requires demonstrated expertise in welding aluminum alloys such as 6061, with a focus on high-quality welds that meet industry standards. Key responsibilities include fabricating and welding custom parts, ensuring 90% or more of completed parts pass inspection, and engaging in semi-annual process improvement initiatives. The position requires strong experience in using various welding machines and inspection tools, and a High School diploma or equivalent along with an accredited welding course is required.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of accredited welding course or equivalent on the job training
- 5+ years of TIG welding experience
- At least 3 years focused on thin-gauge aluminum
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Willingness to follow verbal and written work instructions
- Ability to complete AWS D17.1 class A multi-position weld test
- Proven ability to weld material under 1/8" thickness without distortion
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions as well as decimals
