Job Summary
Welder II role involving metal arc welding of ladder components, torque box and miscellaneous parts, reading blueprints and tape measures, setting up fixtures, operating welders and related tools, performing welds in aluminum and steel per qualified processes, and adhering to safety standards. Daily responsibilities include fabricating parts from shop orders, interpreting weld symbols, working in a noisy environment, following quality and process procedures, and cross-training across welding shop areas.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a Flat & Vertical Weld Test for both aluminum and steel
- Must wear PPE and follow OSHA/ safety standards
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Welding experience (outside the company or mastered at previous level)
- Ability to set up welders and fixtures
- Able to work in various areas of the welding shop
- Ability to become a certified welder
