Job Summary
Perform tack and finish welding of piping systems, small vessels, and structural components using SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes to meet ASME, API, AWS, and ANSI code certifications. Back-gouge welds for full penetration, clean and polish to design specifications, and pass non-destructive testing on pressure retaining welds. Operate fork trucks, jib cranes, and overhead cranes while inspecting own work and completing ASME code weld log documentation daily. Assist with incoming and final product inspections and maintain a clean, safe shop. Work Mondays through Fridays, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 40 hours weekly under the supervision of the E&A supervisor or group leader.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Prior ASME welding certificates
- 2-3 years welding experience
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
