Job Summary
Welder II at Calgon Carbon (A Kuraray Company) in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves tack welding and finish welding of piping systems using SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW, with CCC procedure certification; operate from drawings to determine weld size and location; pass non-destructive testing on pressure-retaining welds; inspect own work for conformance to drawings and weld procedures; assist with inspections and documentation; operate forklifts and cranes; maintain a clean, safe shop and adhere to safety policies. Requires CCC certifications, ASME/API/AWS/ANSI code considerations, skill with carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys, and ability to back-gouge and polish welds per specifications; 40 hours/week on 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shifts; opportunities for tuition reimbursement and development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
- Prior ASME welding certificates is required
- 2-3 years welding experience is required
- ASME code welding is preferred
