Job Summary
Weld metal components, fabricate, and repair heavy mechanical products using MIG, TIG, stick, and arc gouging techniques while adhering to strict safety rules and quality standards. Read blueprints, inspect metal for cleanliness, and perform grinding operations to ensure proper welds. Support the team by efficiently layouting plant equipment, maintaining welding machines, and using cranes or forklifts as needed. Test hot oil piping for leaks and repairs. Complete Permit Required Confined Space Entry training. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, fumes, and loud noise. High School Diploma required; 2+ years of heavy equipment production line welding experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience with heavy equipment production line welding
- Ability to properly and safely MiG weld, stick weld, and arc gouging
- Ability to read and understand weld symbols
- Successful completion of Permit Required Confined Space Entry training
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school or community college course work
- Computer experience, particularly the ability to use a mouse and locate and open/close programs/files
- Knowledge and ability to perform all Grinder tasks required
