Job Summary
Plan work order procedures, gather tools and materials, and repair or fabricate metal structures using cutting, burning, and welding techniques. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts while monitoring processes to prevent overheating or warping. Perform grinding, finishing, and quality control documentation, notifying the Team Leader of faulty equipment or defective materials. Maintain and clean the work area, executing prep work as assigned. This role operates on a wrap shift from Friday through Sunday, 6am to 6:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- three to six months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6months+ of hands on experience in welding and fabrication applications
- Proficient in welding safety
- weld filler selection
- weld processing parameters
- fixturing
- Familiarity and experience with metallurgy
- weld joint analysis
- backing gas applications
- Strong cognitive and clear communication skills which emphasize attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with the ability to lead projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability
- Be able to work independently and unsupervised while prioritizing tasks
- Regular lifting up to 25 lbs
- occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
