Job Summary

Select equipment, plan layout and assembly, and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding methods. Direct setup personnel in aligning and fitting components while gathering parts for assemblies as assigned. Optimize welding tasks by assessing jigs for maintenance adjustments and utilizing engineering drawings to ensure dimensional characteristics meet requirements. Report nonconformance of components or machine function to the department manager or area lead and complete daily records documenting work tasks. Maintain equipment care and proper machine settings to optimize performance. Transfer to other areas when needed or as work requires.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Must be able to pass forklift certification test and drive a forklift
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
