Job Summary
Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications by reading blueprints, interpreting welding process specifications, and operating GTAW, GMAW, FAW, PAW, SMAW, and resistance welding equipment. Operate brazing, soldering, and metal shaping machines including brakes, shears, and straightening devices while participating in continuous improvement and cross-training for production support. Adhere to all applicable safety requirements and maintain hands-on exposure to tool fabrication methods and standard shop processes. Requires 3 months of TIG welding experience, blueprint interpretation skills, and the ability to sit or stand 50% of the shift with a 50-pound lift capacity. Required Qualifications
- 3 months or more of TIG welding experience
- At least 6 months of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and basic welding process specifications under supervision
- Ability to sit or stand at least 50% of work shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on exposure to basic tool fabrication methods and standard shop processes, including measuring, cutting, and fitting parts to specification.
- Experience using production tracking or inventory control systems to log work orders, time, and materials accurately.
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent.
- Well-organized with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think outside the box when solving problems.
