Job Summary
Welder I (TIG) responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures using welding techniques; reads and interprets blueprints and welding symbols; sets up parts, uses hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures to ensure precision; monitors welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent warping or damage; performs prep work, grinding, and finishing; conducts quality control and completes required documentation; maintains a safe and organized work area; supports machine operation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6months+ of hands on experience in welding and fabrication applications: cutting, welding/brazing, drilling, marking/engraving, welding of dissimilar metals a plus
- Proficient in welding safety, weld filler selection, weld processing parameters, fixturing
- Familiarity and experience with metallurgy, weld joint analysis, backing gas applications
- Strong cognitive and clear communication skills which emphasize attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with the ability to lead projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability
- Be able to work independently and unsupervised while prioritizing tasks
