Job Summary
Select and set up tools for work orders, then perform assigned tasks from start to finish including gathering, measuring, cutting, laying out, bending, tacking, welding, and cleaning materials. Operate manual and automatic welders, MIG welders, oxy/acetylene cutting torches, portable band saws, and other machinery according to safety instructions. Produce first pieces meeting product requirements and obtain approvals before proceeding. Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to ensure appropriate processes and observe tests for weld quality and specification conformance. Respond quickly to priority changes and work under pressure while resolving issues with supervisors. May be required to travel between local facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, push, pull, crawl and reach overhead.
- Able to continuously stand and walk on hard floors for the duration of a full shift (up to 10 hours).
- Able to continuously handle, feel, manipulate a variety of shapes, sizes, textures, and materials.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Able to read and interpret a variety of documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to obtain AWS Certification within 6 months of hire date if required.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.
