Job Summary
Weld, cut, and braze metal pieces using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment while reading tags and setup specifications. Tack weld with MIG, flange pipe, build wall fittings, and change lead and liners. Select correct shielding gas and attach it to the welding gun. Use tape measures and perform basic math for standard units. Stand, walk, and handle materials while lifting up to 100 pounds frequently and up to 200 pounds occasionally. Work in a loud environment with moving mechanical parts and vibration. Maintain regular attendance and work as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- Previous factory experience
- 0 to 2 years' experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision
- Regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance
- Ability to work regular hours and shifts
- Ability to work overtime before and after shifts
- Ability to work on weekends
- Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required
- Ability to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction
