Job Summary
Bolting, clamping, and welding metal components for piping systems, plates, and structural shapes using arc and arc gas welding equipment. Perform repairs on boiler and exchanger tubes and tube sheets, as well as fabricate and weld fixed equipment repair panels. Select equipment, plan guiding layouts, and apply knowledge of geometry and welding techniques to assembly tasks. May weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Operate grinding equipment and perform minor rigging and signaling of cranes. Read structural and isometric drawings and follow oral and written instructions while complying with OSHA regulations. Requires a licensed Journeyman-level welder or equivalent apprenticeship with five years of industrial and welding experience. Hourly rate is $44.44.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Licensed Journeyman-level welder
- Successful completion of state certified apprenticeship program
- Equivalent relative craft
- 5 years industrial experience
- 5 yrs Experience in welding
- Knowledge of the tools, principles, methods, and techniques used in the pipefitting and welding trades
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Ability to comply with OSHA procedures
- Ability to perform minor rigging and signaling of cranes
- Ability to operate and maintain grinding equipment
- Ability to fabricate and roll plate
- Ability to read and interpret structural and isometric drawings
- Ability to perform basic math computations
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
