Job Summary
Assist welders with MIG welding on stainless steel components, preparing materials, cleaning weld areas, and setting up equipment. Operate grinders, saws, and basic shop tools to prep and finish welds while holding, positioning, and securing materials during fabrication of structural parts, pipe sections, and stainless assemblies. Help with layout, measuring, cutting, and material handling, including moving girders, stiffeners, splice plates, and diaphragms for FCAW/MIG structural work. Perform basic tack welding if approved by supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures. Monday-Friday, 6 AM -6 PM, rotating.
Required Qualifications
- Experience assisting welders in an industrial or fabrication environment
- Basic knowledge of MIG welding, stainless steel handling, and shop tools
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in hot or confined environments
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain safety standards
