Job Summary
Welder Helper at Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) – full-time role supporting nationwide tank-construction projects. Responsibilities include using tape measures, squares, grinders, chipping hammers, welding equipment, and related hand and power tools; setting up oxy-fuel or plasma cutting equipment; cutting and fitting metal components; maintaining a clean work area and following safety procedures; unloading structural steel and moving materials on site; assembling and fitting steel shapes, scaffolding, and temporary structures; inspecting and rigging equipment such as aerial work platforms; performing safety/firewatch duties when needed; minimum requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 50 lbs, willingness to travel, and availability for on-site work at heights and in harsh weather. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 18 years old
- Pass a criminal background check
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license and transportation
- Good communication skills
- Willing to travel anywhere at any time
- Be willing to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces
- Be willing to work in harsh weather conditions
- Strong basic math and measuring skills
- Be able to lift 50 lbs
- Be willing to authorize background and motor vehicle driving record checks
- Be willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug, and alcohol testing
- Eye for quality and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
