Job Summary
Conduct daily welding operations including shielded metal arc, submerged arc, plasma arc, gas tungsten arc, and gas metal arc welding, along with brazing, soldering, and torch cutting. Perform liquid dye penetrant tests, develop work from prints and sketches, and manage layouts and setups. Assist with steam turbine repairs, CNC machining, and generator field refurbishing while maintaining machining and material handling equipment. May direct and train others on related duties as assigned. Full-time onsite role at the Chamblee, GA facility, with new hires starting on the 1st shift before transitioning to the 2nd shift.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- At least 2 years of experience in welding, machining (conventional or CNC) or technical assembly
- Ability to read and understand work instructions
- Must be familiar with the use of base metals, filler metals, and alloy selection
- Must be able to perform shielded metal arc, submerged arc, plasma arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and oxygen/acetylene welding operations
- Must be able to perform brazing, soldering and torch cutting operations
- Must be able to perform liquid dye penetrant tests
- Must be able to work from less complicated prints and sketches
- Must be able to perform layouts and setups
- Must be able to direct and train others
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Must be able to work onsite at the Chamblee, GA facility
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET during training
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET after training is complete
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must be able to work steam turbine repairs
- Must be able to assist with generator field repair and re-furbishing
- Must be able to work with CNC mills, lathes, and horizontal boring machines
