Job Summary
Perform all mechanical tasks with minimal supervision, including installations, alterations, relocations, and assembly of structured and fabricated steel. Interpret drawings accurately to install equipment, supports, piping, and align machinery while maintaining a clean work area. Fabricate field modifications, level, plumb, and align equipment, and direct helpers or apprentices to meet production requirements. Work at heights up to 90 feet and in restrictive areas, utilizing proper safety equipment and complying with OSHA and federal codes. Requires five years of welding experience, welding certification, and ability to work overtime as needed.

- Understand and complies with Company/job safety requirements (OSHA)
- Understands and follows federal, state, and local codes
- Possesses installation knowledge of equipment foundations
- Has experience in fluid/gas transfer
- Ability to add, subtract, divide, multiply, and use mechanical formulas accurately
- Possesses technical knowledge, safety knowledge, and ability to work with live/energized parts
- Must wear personnel protective equipment as required (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, safety harness, and respirator as required)
- Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Ability to independently lift work loads of 51 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders of all types
- Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)
- Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but deemed safe for use
- Ability to use both hands simultaneously for tying knots and for proper use of power equipment
- Welding Certification as required for the duties of this position
- High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience
- Five years welding experience
