Job Summary
Welding skilled work fabricating, installing, repairing, or maintaining metal assemblies. Lays out, cuts, and fits materials for welding using blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions. Welds using gas or arc processes; clamps parts in jig or vise; inspects weld bead size and penetration; fabricates or repairs metal assemblies such as truck bodies, racks, supports, gates, and related components; may perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and read blueprints. Probation: six months.
Required Qualifications
- A valid structural welder's certificate issued by the City of Jacksonville with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
- A valid Florida driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.
