Job Summary
Welder Fitter for Structural Steel performing FCAW/GMAW welding and fitting. Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols, lay out and align parts, and secure assemblies using straightedges, squares, calipers, and rulers. Operate welding equipment (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW), inspect pieces for defects, and ensure conformance to specifications. Maintain equipment and follow company and OSHA safety rules; physical requirements include handling heavy parts in varied indoor conditions and wearing PPE. Required Qualifications
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Experience in FCAW welding/fitting
- Recognize weld symbols
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using straightedges, squares, calipers, rulers
- Operate shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
- Maintain safety and PPE usage
- Follow OSHA safety rules
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently
