Job Summary
Fit and weld structural assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Read and interpret detailed blueprints and weld symbols to ensure accurate fabrication of large structural components and industrial equipment. Perform FCAW and MCAW welding processes, measure, fit, align, and prepare structural components, and safely operate large overhead cranes and forklifts using proper slinging and rigging techniques. Take direction from the Manufacturing Supervisor, Manager, or Lead Hand and direct work when supervision is unavailable. Ensure all work meets required quality standards while following Health & Safety, Quality Management Systems, and company policies. Join a well-established manufacturing organization in a straight day shift, full-time in-shop position.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience fitting and welding structural assemblies if not certified
- Strong blueprint reading skills and fluent understanding of weld symbols
- Experience with FCAW and MCAW welding processes
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong team-driven attitude, work ethic, and professional approach
- Strong attendance and punctuality record
- Ability to follow Health & Safety, quality, and company policies
Desired Qualifications
- 437A or Red Seal certification is an asset
- Strong structural fitting and welding experience may be considered in place of certification
- Previous or current CWB certification is considered an asset
- Strong fitting and welding capabilities are preferred; candidates with turn-key fabrication skills are encouraged to apply
- Extensive experience operating large overhead cranes, including slinging and rigging, and forklifts
