Job Summary
Welder/Fitter needed to weld pressure vessels and structural components in accordance with ASME codes and detailed shop drawings. Responsibilities include performing FCAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SMAW welding, inspecting and interpreting blueprints and WPS/PQRs, executing full-penetration welds in multiple positions (1G–6G as required), material preparation (grinding, fitting, beveling, cleaning joints), collaborating with fitters, supervisors, and quality control inspectors to meet production schedules, assisting with hydrotest preparation and weld repairs, maintaining equipment and proper machine settings, and adhering to safety procedures. Candidates should have proven welding experience in manufacturing/fabrication, proficiency in multiple welding processes, ability to read technical drawings and welding documentation, familiarity with ASME codes (preferred), and strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fitter
- Proficiency in welding processes FCAW, TIG, MIG, and Stick
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, WPS, and PQRs
- Experience performing welds in multiple positions (1G–6G)
- Prepare materials by grinding, fitting, beveling, and cleaning joints
- Collaborate with fitters, supervisors, and quality control inspectors to meet production schedules and quality expectations
- Maintains welding equipment and proper setup and machine settings
- Follow safety procedures and company policies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Physically capable of lifting, standing, and working in various conditions
