Job Summary
Welder/Fitter needed to cut, burn, fabricate, weld, and straighten all types of materials in the shop with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include applying welding principals and methods (FCAW, GMAW, GTAW), reading and following weld procedures and QC plans, setting up welding machines, interpreting blueprints and AWS weld symbols, and performing basic NDE (LPT and VT). Must operate grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts; work in a safety-conscious manufacturing environment; perform essential duties including repetitive wrist/hand movements, standing, bending, lifting 25–50 lbs, and exposure to moving machinery and dust. Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of welding principals and methods including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
- Welding with multiple processes in multiple positions as required
- Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
- Read a tape measure to 1/64”
- Read and interpret blueprints and AWS weld symbols
- Daily use grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts
