Job Summary
Conduct torch and plasma cutting, fitting, tacking, and MIG welding on carbon steel parts, ensuring proper penetration and free from defects. Visually inspect components, clean weld areas, and verify dimensions using coordinate measuring machines and gauges. Prepare parts with fixtures, apply heat with temp sticks, and repair defective welds by grinding, cutting, or re-welding. Utilize cranes and carts to move materials, store tooling with proper labeling, and maintain work areas. Identify safety hazards and perform duties as directed by the Team Leader. Work the 2nd or 3rd shift, 2:30pm to 1:00am or 7:30pm to 6:00am.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to use measuring equipment such as measuring tapes, verniers and calipers, and read gauges
- Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift and use hoists to pick up heavy parts
- General computer skills
- 2nd Shift - 2:30pm to 1:00am
- 3rd Shift - 7:30pm to 6:00am
