Job Summary
Execute precision MIG welding on flat parts, tubing, and structural assemblies, adapting to various thicknesses and positions. Interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and bills of materials to layout, fit, and fabricate complex structural weldments and architectural facade components. Ensure high-end finish quality by producing clean welds, utilizing grinders, and performing in-process inspections with calipers and gauges to verify geometric accuracy. Operate fabrication tools, handheld grinders, and heavy machinery like forklifts and overhead cranes while maintaining equipment and keeping the workspace safe. Work in a custom manufacturing environment building visible, high-impact details rather than repetitive assembly line tasks.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of experience as a metal fabricator
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding (specifically flat parts, tubing, and structural welding)
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical instructions
- Physical ability to lift 30-50 lbs regularly and perform repetitive tasks/manual dexterity work
- Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
Desired Qualifications
- TIG welding experience
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Experience in architectural metals, custom manufacturing, or job-shop environments
- Certification in welding or fabrication technology
