Job Summary
Fabricate, assemble, weld, and repair structural steel and sheet metal components for custom manufacturing projects using MIG, TIG, and FCAW processes. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to lay out projects from material preparation through final welding, while operating equipment such as drill presses, plasma cutters, and lathes. Maintain compliance with ASME, AWS, and ISO quality standards by inspecting welds, minimizing waste, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Work in a clean, safe environment following company procedures, communicating project status with the production team. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited welding program or a minimum of 5 years of documented welding/fabrication experience
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding processes
- Ability to obtain or maintain AWS and/or ASME welding certifications
- Strong blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation skills
- Experience operating fabrication and machine shop equipment
- Ability to fabricate projects independently from layout through final assembly
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and structural steel fabrication techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing
- Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with precision tools
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with temperature variations, welding operations, and other industrial conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of ISO quality systems and manufacturing documentation
