Job Summary
Fabrication Welder performs high-level pipe welding, fitting, and component assembly to meet engineering specifications; reads blueprints, plans layouts, selects welding methods (GTAW Tig, GMAW Mig, Subarc) for carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum; sets up components, prepares parts with grinders, clamps, and precision tools; welds in vertical/horizontal/overhead positions; tests and inspects welds; maintains equipment; reports to General Manager. Must have 4-5 years welding experience or equivalent schooling, strong blueprint reading and GD&T understanding, proficiency with fabrication tools, and ability to meet quality control standards in a collaborative setting.
Required Qualifications
- 4-5 years professional welding experience or equivalent advanced technical schooling
- blueprint reading capabilities including welding symbols and GD&T
- read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16"
- proficiency with fabrication tools including band saws, cutoff wheels, grinders, drill presses, hydraulic presses, belt sanders
- ownership of standard personal hand tools
- understanding of weld inspection methods and quality control
- ability to operate forklifts safely
- effective communication and teamwork
