Job Summary
Position Summary: With supervision from a Compactor Shop Technician A, Lead Compactor Shop Technician Supervisor or Manager, a Compactor Shop Technician B performs troubleshooting, design, installation and repairs of all compactors and power units. This role requires replacement of hydraulic cylinders, fabrication of replacement hoses and fittings, welding of steel components using MIG and Arc welding equipment, plasma cutting, onsite repairs at customer locations, and installation of safety decals per company diagrams. Tasks include completing required paperwork and referring more complex repairs to higher-level technicians. The role emphasizes adherence to safety procedures, and the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in welding, hydraulics or electronics, the use of mig & stick welders, plasma cutter, and ability to follow directions with minimal supervision; at least 2 years of experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses.
