Job Summary
Fabricate custom metal fixtures, weldments, and jigs from layout through final finishing using MIG and TIG processes. Interpret complex mechanical drawings to ensure flawless fabrication and validate finished products with precision tools against high-tolerance aerospace standards. Act as a technical problem-solver on the floor, collaborating with engineering to optimize processes and troubleshoot complex builds. Produce high-specification welds that pass stringent X-Ray and bend tests in compliance with AWS and ASME codes. Perform routine maintenance on welding and fabricating equipment. This secure, full-time first-shift role offers a predictable Monday through Friday schedule with a steady pipeline of work.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of professional experience with a heavy emphasis on custom metal fabrication and precision welding
- High proficiency in both MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding across various materials, notably steel and aluminum
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and build directly from complex mechanical blueprints and drawings
- Deep expertise in measurement and validation, with a sharp attention to detail for close-tolerance work
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex jigs, fixtures, and weldments independently
- High school diploma (GED), trade school certificate, or Associate's degree in Manufacturing Technology
Desired Qualifications
- Basic ability to operate manual equipment (mills, lathes) to support fabrication and secondary operations
- Prior qualification to AWS and ASME codes, or proven history of passing rigorous non-destructive testing (NDT) like X-Ray and bend tests
- Previous experience in a high-spec Aerospace or Defense manufacturing environment familiar with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and Nadcap standards
