Job Summary
Fabricate, fit, and weld structural steel components and custom equipment using Flux Core, MIG, TIG, and Stick processes. Read engineering drawings, fabrication prints, and weld symbols to produce assemblies meeting quality standards and project specifications. Operate shop equipment including band saws, ironworkers, and cutting torches while safely moving assemblies with overhead cranes and forklifts. Maintain a clean work area, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges and meet schedules. Full-time position in Diboll, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of fabrication and welding experience in a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong Flux Core welding experience is required
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
- Experience fabricating structural steel, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or custom equipment
- Strong understanding of fabrication methods, welding procedures, and quality standards
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
- Full-time position based at Altec Manufacturing Inc. in Diboll, Texas
- Regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds
- Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training, trade certification, or welding certification is considered an asset
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding is considered an asset
