Job Summary
Fabricate, fit, repair, and weld metal components for building products using MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core processes while interpreting blueprints and meeting production schedules. Measure, lay out, cut, and grind steel components; set up equipment and fixtures; and perform torch cutting and finishing operations. Inspect completed welds for quality and structural integrity, report defects, and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure material availability. Maintain welding equipment, perform routine maintenance, and follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations. Work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent lifting of 50–75 pounds, overtime, and extended hours based on production needs.
Required Qualifications
- Strong welding, fabrication, fitting, and torch-cutting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and measurements
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Ability to accurately measure materials using tape measures and layout tools
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of welding or metal fabrication experience
- Experience in manufacturing, structural steel, rebar fabrication, industrial fabrication, or construction environments
- Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding processes
- Experience operating fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, clamps, and layout tools
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Ability to stand continuously throughout the workday and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials weighing 50–75 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, climbing, and repetitive hand movements
- Manual dexterity required to safely operate welding equipment and fabrication tools
- Ability to wear required PPE throughout the workday
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as authorized
- May require overtime or extended hours based on production schedules
Desired Qualifications
- Previous MIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred
- AWS welding certification or equivalent technical certification preferred
- Welding trade school or apprenticeship training is a plus
