Job Summary
Welding and installing/custom-design fabrication of snow and ice equipment for trucks at the Calgary site. Read and interpret drawings to fabricate and assemble structures, then install equipment on trucks ensuring weld quality and structural integrity. Must be able to set up welders, torches, and plasma machines and troubleshoot issues. Requires 3-5 years welding experience, flux-core welding in all positions, experience with mag drills and various power tools, own tools including grinder and hand tools, ability to lift 30-50 lbs, and reliable transportation. Assets include Red Seal or Journeyman Welder status, overhead crane experience, and hydraulic systems familiarity. Monday–Friday 5:00 am–1:30 pm with overtime as needed; long-term full-time employment; employee benefits and tool allowances.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years welding experience
- Ability to weld flux core in all positions effectively and proficiently
- Experience using mag drills and other power tools and hand tools
- Having your own toolbox and tools including grinder and hand tools required for welding as well as an impact gun, wrenches & sockets
- Ability to set up welders, torches and plasma machines and be able to trouble shoot and resolve simple issues
- Ability to work in a team environment or as an individual to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to lift 30-50Lbs and always work safely
- Having a vehicle to get to the shop (no buses)
- Red Seal Welder and/or Journeyman Welder
- Overhead Crane experience or training
- Experience around hydraulic systems
