Job Summary
Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to fabricate custom metal components and assemblies from drawings and measurements. Measure, cut, fit, form, and weld material to required specifications while operating fabrication tools such as grinders, plasma cutters, bandsaws, and press brakes. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, perform material take-offs, and check measurements throughout the process to ensure accuracy. Work with team members to safely move materials and finished products, following established safety procedures and wearing required PPE. Operate a forklift as needed, with training provided. This hands-on role builds ductwork, scrubbers, pipe stands, fan bases, and custom metal components for AC Corp's Fabrication team in Greensboro, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Welding experience
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding
- Interest and experience in metal fabrication
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Basic math skills, including fractions
- Ability to read and work from drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to figure out how to get the job done
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold shop environments
- Ability to safely wear required PPE, including welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective gloves
- Pre-employment drug test
