Job Summary
Read blueprints and job orders to determine specifications for fabricating stainless sheet metal, tubing, and complex precision assemblies. Perform tack or set welds using a TIG welder to produce seamless frames, components, and weldments that conform to drawings and meet +/- 1/16" tolerances. Verify weldments, make corrections as required, and grind or polish sharp edges. Operate bending brake presses and use measuring tools including calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy. Maintain a safe work environment while complying with all quality and safety regulations. This role requires at least five years of TIG welding experience in a job shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience as a TIG welder with the ability to fabricate in a job shop environment
- Experience with steel or mild steel, material ranging from 1/16" up to 1/2"
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints without assistance
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Able to operate a bending brake press
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Leveling and squaring ability (without the assistance of others)
- Ability to occasionally push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds by oneself
- Ability to bend and rotate body repeatedly
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
