Job Summary

Maintain a safe work environment by reading blueprints, setting up stainless sheet metal and tubing, and performing tack or set welds using a TIG welder. Verify weldments conform to drawings and specs, ensuring frames are produced within required tolerances and squareness. Grind and polish sharp edges on workpieces as needed while operating bending brake presses, saws, and polishers. This hourly position requires 5+ years of TIG welding experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and standing for 8 hours daily. IPG offers competitive pay ranging from $28 to $32 per hour, extensive benefits, and ongoing training within a sustainable, community-focused organization.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience as a TIG welder with the ability to fabricate in a job shop environment
  • Experience with steel or mild steel, material ranging from 1/16" up to ½"
  • Use grinders, saws, polishers, hand tools, power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints without assistance
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Able to operate a bending brake press
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Leveling and squaring ability (without the assistance of others)
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds by oneself
  • Ability to bend and rotate body repeatedly
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • The ability to hold fabrication tolerances at +/- 1/16" (or better) is a must
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
