Job Summary
Set-up and operate welding and fabrication equipment to produce piping, pressure vessels, and structural components using MIG and TIG processes. Pass performance tests under ASME and AWS codes, read blueprints, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys. Inspect and evaluate manufactured parts, maintain ISO quality standards, and ensure product conformance to specifications. Comply with safety procedures, including protective clothing and hazard management, while maintaining a clean work area. Pass x-ray quality work regularly. Overtime may be required periodically.
Required Qualifications
- One year welding experience in GTAW and GMAW
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English
- Ability to read simple blueprints and technical specifications
- Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
- Close vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Overtime required at periodic intervals
Desired Qualifications
- Equivalent education to one year welding experience in GTAW and GMAW
- Learning to weld various product lines and our processes in the division
- Ability to handle routine projects and tasks under moderate supervision
- Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks
- Pass performance tests as required by ASME Code Section IX (Welding and Brazing)
- Pass performance tests as required by ASME Code Section VIII Div1 (Unfired Pressure Vessels)
- Pass performance tests as required by ASME Code Section B31.3 (Process Piping)
- Pass performance tests as required by ASME Code Section B31.1 (Power Piping)
- Pass performance tests as required by AWS D1.1 (Structural Welding)
- Above average ability to fit all products
- Ability to weld a variety of metals, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, monel, nickel based alloys
- Ability to pass x-ray quality work regularly and consistently
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively
- Ability to maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards
- Ability to maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner
- Punctual, regular and consistent attendance
