Welder

Welds parts on jigs/fixtures or freehand, selecting torch, tip, filler rod and flux per welding chart/specs; connects regulator valves to oxy-fuel cylinders and controls gas flow to achieve desired flame; guides torch along weld joint and applies filler metal; inspects weld bead size and quality, performs repairs and builds up metal as needed; preheats pieces, tack-welds, and welds vertical/overhead joints; grinds/degreaes finished welds, reads specifications for machine adjustments and material needs, sets stops/guides, operates machinery, and performs basic maintenance; requires a high school diploma or GED and 1-3 months related experience or training.
