Job Summary
Execute wire welding and multi-pass welds to AWS standards, utilizing rotators and overhead hoists to produce quality parts from blueprints and patterns. Inspect components with basic equipment, adjust production requirements, and maintain a clean work area while strictly following safety policies. Clock in/out via computer software and report hazards or injuries promptly. Work rotating shifts including 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, earning shift premiums up to 30%. Requires two years of mechanical shop experience and D1.1 2G-Horizontal Mig certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or 18 years of age
- Passing score of 80% in the required sections of Welding Excellence
- At least two years of wire welding and other related mechanical and shop experience
- Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to organize and run work in a timely and effective manner
- Knowledge of basic Welding
- Ability to pass D1.1 2G-Horizontal Mig welding certification
- Overhead Hoist Certification
- Ability to visualize and interpret blueprints and sketches
- Ability to use the basic inspection equipment (calipers, height gauge, etc.) to be able to inspect parts being produced by the individual
- Ability to produce quality welds with the settings the cell was setup with
- Ability to produce multi-pass welds
- Ability to produce welds to AWS standards
- Ability to utilize rotators for positioning welds
- Ability to utilize overhead hoist safely
- Ability to adjust to changes in production requirements
- Ability to acknowledge problems with the welder and be able to get the correct individual involved
- Must be able to use the computer software to clock in and out of work and in/out of jobs along with checking job count
- Must be able to weld pumps
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
