Job Summary
Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal and steel components on trailers according to SOPs, blueprints, and supervisor instructions. Read measurements to plan layouts, set up components using fixtures and clamps, and operate angle grinders to prepare parts. Perform manual welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions to fill gaps and prepare trailers. Maintain quality standards with a "Stop and Fix" mindset, inspect welded surfaces for flaws, and keep equipment in safe condition. Follow 5S and safety protocols while lifting over 50 lbs and working in awkward positions for up to 10 hours. Assist colleagues to ensure efficient completion of work.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess the skill set to support a safe working environment.
- Must be able to pass a Horizontal, vertical and overhead weld test.
- Must be able to read a tape measure, down to 1/16th in.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in awkward positions while bending, stooping, kneeling, or standing for 10 hrs.
