Job Summary
Perform welding tasks repairing and maintaining containers on- and off-site while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Assist maintenance personnel with weld repairs, asset fabrication, and metal design, fabrication, and repair projects. Document all repair and fabrication work, track time per department procedures, and request necessary parts and supplies. Maintain equipment including service trucks, trailers, safety gear, and tools while complying with company safety policies and attending mandatory safety meetings. Report immediately any safety violations or unsafe conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a pulmonary function test if required by work assignment
- Passage of the company welding test
- Welding aptitude
- Must be able to obtain any welding certificates needed to perform certain tasks or projects
- Must demonstrate an understanding of metal welding theory and practices
- Must pass a pulmonary function and respirator fit tests
- Valid Class C driver's license
- Safe driving for the last three years
- Forklift certification by company within 90 days of employment
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of maintenance welding experience including the use of arch, Mig, and stick welders, plasma cutter and acetylene equipment
- Aluminum welding experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience
