Job Summary
Weld structural steel members using MIG wirefeed processes in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures. Read welding symbols, understand testing requirements, and follow proper safety instructions while working in a team environment with minimal supervision. Perform other duties as needed by supervision. This role requires a High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder, along with the ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW on 3/8" material. Candidates must have good verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
- Related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager
- Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish
- Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW process on 3/8" material
- Good verbal communication skills with other employees
- Positive attitude
- Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement
- Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary
- Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
