Job Summary
Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) to join metal components per specifications and blueprints, while inspecting welds for quality, alignment, and adherence to engineering standards. Prepare surfaces through grinding, cleaning, and degreasing, maintain equipment, and coordinate pressing operations for seamless assembly. Read technical drawings accurately, follow safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures, and meet production quotas and quality standards while working independently. This 1st shift role runs Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. We require 2+ years of hands-on production welding experience, proficiency with MIG welding, and the ability to interpret blueprints. Certification (AWS or equivalent) is desired, along with experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on welding experience in a production or fabrication environment
- Proficiency with MIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
- Strong understanding of welding safety standards and metallurgy basics
- Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule consistently and reliably
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods (up to 50 lbs regularly)
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality over speed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with TIG or Stick welding
- Experience with metal fabrication processes and press operations
- Welding certification (AWS or equivalent)
- Experience with CNC or automated welding equipment
- Familiarity with quality control tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
