Job Summary
Fit, weld, and fabricate piping systems, structural supports, and olets using TIG, MIG, and other welding processes while adhering to ASME standards and approved procedures. Operate shop equipment, process materials per work orders and shop drawings, and prepare necessary paperwork for order completion. Maintain a clean, safe work environment, stack processed materials for shipping, and ensure on-time shipment of orders. Perform grinding, cutting, and flame cutting as required. This role supports Archer Mechanical's design-build and fabrication projects, requiring a 6G GTAW pipe test and familiarity with pipe rotating equipment.
Required Qualifications
- TIG and MIG welding on pipe
- Experience with GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes
- Must complete and pass a 6G GTAW XXH wall pipe test using ER70S-6 filler
- 6" XXH (In the rolled position) Using RMD process with E70C-6M Metal cored wire, and/or GMAW root pass with FCAW fill and cap
- Basic knowledge of ASME standards
- Familiarity with pipe rotating, or positioner equipment
- Good knowledge of shop safety practices
- Ability to operate overhead cranes
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of pipe trade tools such as pipe wraps, center finders, and two-hole pins
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of 5S/Lean principles is a plus
