Job Summary
Welder Apprentice responsible for assisting an experienced welder with TIG and wire welding, setup and operation of welding equipment, hand peening and tacking, plasma setup, and general project support. Duties include helping with setup and use of grinders, completing project paperwork, following safety procedures, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting special projects as assigned. Requires ability to read blueprints and measurements, understand measuring devices, knowledge of metal finishing, and willingness to learn welding processes while adhering to safety standards. Strong teamwork, communication, attention to detail, workmanship, and hand skills are valued, with a comprehensive benefits package described by the employer. Typical schedule is Monday–Thursday 6am-3:30pm and Friday 6am-2:30pm with Willmar, MN location.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age and enrolled in schooling program
- Ability to read and understand blue prints, including basic lines and symbols
- Ability to read and understand measuring equipment / device results (tape measure & caliper)
- Ability to perform metal finishing according to industry standards
- Ability to troubleshoot and take appropriate action to resolve problems
- Have general knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment
- Knowledge of power tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
