Job Summary
Apprentice Welder responsible for fabricating custom prototypes from drawings, making jigs/fixtures, and producing production parts to spec using MIG, ARC, and TIG welding. Will read blueprints, operate welding equipment across GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, PAW, SMAW, OAW, SAW, and other processes, fabricate metal structures with related machines, inspect and document work, and maintain safety and compliance with Alberta OH&S. Requires enrollment as an apprentice welder in Alberta, pursuing Red Seal or CWB tickets, and ability to work under supervision or independently in a fast-paced production environment with 6:15 PM–5:45 AM night shift; physical ability to lift up to 50 lb; travel to off-site locations may be required. 24/7 availability may be required; Overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- Registered as an apprentice welder in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school
- Working towards Interprovincial Red Seal or CWB tickets
- Valid welding certification, GMAW, SMAW, certified in all positions
