Job Summary
MIG Welder position on U-Haul’s manufacturing team (6am-2pm). Perform MIG welding to join steel and aluminum from 1/16” to 1” thick, interpret work orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions, and clamp parts into jigs/fixtures. Duties include cleaning burrs, spatter, and weld flux; hand-counting material for inventory; and adhering to safety practices while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Must successfully complete a plant-administered welding test and maintain regular attendance; PPE includes welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, cotton clothing, and steel-toe shoes. Required Qualifications
- Successfully complete a plant-administered welding test
- Regular attendance is essential
- Interprets and carries out work orders, blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions
- Wears and maintains protective clothing and equipment including a welding helmet, welding gloves, cotton clothing, safety glasses and steel-toe safety shoes
- Follows all safety practices during assembly and production operations and ensures that work areas are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner
