Job Summary
Welder 4 & Lead Hand sought for AdvanTec Marine in Chilliwack, BC. Role focuses on production welding of standard and custom marine products, fabrication from drawings, and development of jigs/fixtures to meet customer specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities include MIG welding of carbon steel with .045 wire, interpreting drawings and welding specs, fitting and fabricating custom products, monitoring fabrication quality, troubleshooting, ensuring task completion, maintaining a safe workplace, and supporting production requirements. Requires AWS Ticketed Welder or ITA Level 2 Welder (or equivalent B Pressure ticket), 8+ years welding/fabrication, 3+ years GMAW in production, 2+ years fitting/fabrication, proficiency with weld symbols/drawings, ability to read sketches, and assets in NDT/CWB/DNC; CGP eligibility is required. Forklift certification is an asset. Competitive wage CAD 37–41/hour plus Lead Hand premium, with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- AWS Ticketed Welder
- ITA Level 2 Welder
- B Pressure ticket
- 8+ years welding and fabrication experience
- 3 years of production GMAW welding
- 2 years of fitting and fabrication
- Strong understanding of weld symbols and engineering drawings
- Ability to read, interpret, and sketch technical drawings and blueprints
