Job Summary
Set up and operate hand and power tools, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, to fabricate products matching production specifications. Perform welding on components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using various materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and cast iron. Prepare surfaces by cleaning contaminants, mark materials with job identifiers, and examine workpieces for defects using straightedges and templates. Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan operations, monitor fitting and burning processes to prevent distortion, and detect faulty equipment or defective materials. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting issues to supervisors. Work the 3rd shift from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with overtime availability as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of industrial fabrication welding experience
- Ability to pass a weld test
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and job specifications
- Basic computer skills
- familiarity with welding tools and equipment
- Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
- Demonstrated reliable work history
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
- Must be available for overtime
