Job Summary
Perform wire welding functions including TIG welding, setup jigs and fixtures, and execute non-structural tack welds. Conduct secondary processing operations such as sand blasting, wire brushing, and grinding while maintaining torches, coolers, hoses, and cables. Work in compliance with NADCAP requirements, pass workmanship reviews, and troubleshoot products for new process development. Produce parts according to certification and quality guidelines while interacting with internal and external customers. Train lower-level employees, coach on GE Leadership behaviors, and complete labor tracking documentation. Proactively improve efficiency and quality while adhering to safety procedures and physical demands.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- 3 years welding experience
- Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
- Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, calipers, go-no go gauges, etc.)
- Proficient in use of basic computer applications
- Familiarity with weld and fusion principles
- Expert understanding of weld symbols and schedules
- Ability to pass visual acuity exam
- Willingness and ability to obtain certifications required for department
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining
- Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance
- Ability to continuously sit
- Ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs
- Ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs
- This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek

- Transferrable TIG welding experience
