Job Summary
Perform MIG and TIG welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel parts based on product needs, reading blueprints and written instructions to ensure safety, accuracy, and timeliness. De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture while conserving resources for client satisfaction. Apply welding safety procedures using provided PPE and possess knowledge of QC and product specifications. This role reports to the Metals Supervisor and coordinates with Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, and Shipping teams. Candidates must have one year of metal working equipment experience, proficiency with tools like forklifts and cranes, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Substrate Assembly Technician duties may be required as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility
- Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner
- Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift
- Knowledge of safe workplace practices
Desired Qualifications
- Welding certification a plus
- Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful
